In depth

Verdict

Alfred Hutchinson went close over a shorter trip here on his penultimate start but has something to prove over today's distance and SPIFER is just preferred. The top weight attempted to make all in much better company at Lingfield last time but could only manage fourth behind Tinshu though that's the best recent form on offer. Marco Botti's charge makes more appeal than Boonga Roogeta whose winning run came to end in a Listed contest at Doncaster in November but she'd beaten Dakota Canyon six lengths at Newmarket earlier. Rossetti is upped in class but Classic Colori has gone close at this level before although he's hard to catch right.
