      Verdict

Locombe Hill was impressive over course and distance last time and can follow up at the expense of Nimello and St Ivian. Noel Wilson's nine-year-old shows no sign of going down hill and led throughout to comfortably beat Yorker by three lengths in a similar contest. It was only his second ever outing on the this surface and there should be improvement to come now he has shown he can handle the conditions. Nimello was successful over course and distance before finishing a decent third behind Broughton Buzzer at Chepstow. He has to give weight away all round but should still be involved in the finish. St Ivian landed a seller over course and distance before running a gallant fifth behind the progressive Count Cougar. Quinncannon is steadily improving and should do best of the others, but Locombe Hill, despite his advancing years, looks on the upgrade and gets a confident vote.
