In depth

Verdict

Flor Y Nata and El Capitan look the obvious form contenders here, but we will take a chance on the debutante Congressional. Michael Jarvis's filly is superbly bred by Grand Lodge out of a Saddlers Hall mare. She cost 80 thousand guineas as a yearling and the fact that she is entered in a valuable sales race later in the season suggests she has shown plenty of ability at home. El Capitan is improving nicely and has the experience of a recent course effort, he will be difficulty to keep out of the money. Meanwhile Flor Y Nata is expected to step up on her debut effort here just behind El Capitan in the race won by Charlton. Ed Dunlop's Just Observing should be the pick of the others, but for the winner we return to Congressional.
