Verdict
The admirable PACTOLUS has won 12 times on the all-weather and has finished thereabouts in decent handicaps recently including a close-up second to Victory Bond at Lingfield last time. That bodes well for another bold bid in the race Stuart Williams’ charge won last year when the re-opposing Nonios could only manage fifth. Star Of Southwold is proving best at Chelmsford of the all-weather venues though finished just behind fifth-placed Smile A Mile over a shorter trip at the latter track last time while Felix is upped in class and raised 6lb after winning at Newmarket for Sir Michael Stoute in September and has switched yards subsequently.
