Just the eight runners go to post for this claimer and it is hard to oppose PRINCE CHARLEMAGNE, who has been running well in handicaps and claimers of late, and he can give weight and a beating to his rivals with Magnitude and Sedgwick looking the pick of them. Magnitude won well at Lingfield last time but that was only a seller and this looks more difficult for the five-year-old, although he has at least now proved that he does stay this far. Nick Vaughan's New England has disappointed since winning a seller here in August and is hard to recommend, while Lee Smyth's Alf Tupper ran better in a handicap here last time but faces no easy task at the weights today. Ian Williams has done well with his string under both codes of late and his runner, Sedgwick, has typically been running much better recently in winning races at Lingfield and Southwell. He rates the main danger to the selection, Prince Charlemagne, who can resume winning ways in this company.
