Quinsman showed last time that these conditions bring out the best in him and Stan Moore's charge has to be respected, but there look to be a couple here with progress in them in Country Road and ATEEB, with the latter preferred. Ed Dunlop's gelding has done well since switched to all-weather handicaps and there's reason to hope that he can overcome an extra 3lbs now stepped up to 1m6f, judging by the manner of his recent second. Country Road arrives on the back of a confidence boosting win, albeit one that came in plating company, and would be a huge threat if consenting to settle. Peintre d'Argent won a handicap here off 48 in the spring and has progressed to this mark of 69 since but that may just be about her ceiling while Argaum failed to score despite being awarded a soft lead at Epsom and needs to find more.
