In depth

Verdict

Farley Star is taken to score here at the main expense of Captain Jacksparra and Mount Hermon. The selection is a lightly-raced filly and she did not have the race run to suit when chasing home Just Dust at Ascot last time. She looks to be going the right way and nominal improvement should make her tough to beat. Captain Jacksparra is a nice colt and he is chasing the hat-trick here. He looks progressive but he is up against some potentially smart types today and he looks worth taking on. Mount Hermon could not have been any more impressive when winning his maiden at Southwell last time and although he looks to have more on his plate on this his handicap debut he is definite shortlist material. Flores Sea is a course and distance winner and he has a good draw today so he could go well at a big price from a yard that are in good form, but for the winner we will return to Farley Star.
