    In depth

    Verdict

Danum - another of Reg Hollinshead's representatives - gets a tentative vote of confidence over Spy Gun and Komreyev Star. The last named has not been seen out since winning a modest handicap at Ayr last October, but had previously shown that he was getting the hang of things. The handicapper has given him a chance and he is one to seriously consider if the market suggests that he is fit and ready for his reappearance. Spy Gun has also shaped as if his turn is not too far away and will be hard to keep out of the frame if he consents to do himself justice. However, narrow preference is for Danum, who was just run out of things in a course and distance maiden last month. He dropped significant hint that he knows a fair bit about what is required of him and a more patient ride from his jockey may provide the key to him winning this afternoon
