In depth

Verdict

Alfred makes a quick reappearance under a penalty having won at Newcastle four days ago. But he’ll need to settle better if he’s to get home over this longer trip while Palazzo Persico beat Go Your Own Way over 1m2f at Chelmsford last time but is upped in class. Maiden winner ROCKET WARRIOR was a bit of a disappointment here on his handicap debut but pedigree suggests he’ll improve for this extra distance and Marco Botti’s yard is in fine form. Dr Hackenbush makes his handicap debut for a powerful yard and is not easily dismissed with headgear applied.
