ACOLYTE appreciated a change of tactics when making all to score at Kempton and should remain competitive if that strategy is replicated here off a 6lb higher mark. He's 2-2 on artificial surfaces and looks an improving type for Roger Charlton to exploit. Course and distance winner, Jimmy's Hall, will find this tougher than the Brighton handicap he landed last time and his last two wins have both come at the south coast venue. Cool Bahamian looks the main danger as he can be arguably considered unlucky not to have landed one if not both of his two latest starts. John Fahy shouldn't have too many problems here on this hold-up merchant in a smallish field and a wide straight to aid his cause and his late surge will be a danger to the selection. Gentlemen has a good record here and is also respected.
