Cedar Grove is just fancied to take advantage of a very low mark, with recent scorer Royal Castle an obvious threat and Eagles Landing another to merit consideration. The selection put up a much-improved display when third in a Southwell claimer in March and John Harris' gelding showed that was no fluke when going one place better in a similar race at Musselburgh last time. Dean McKeown clearly gets on well with the horse and he is fancied to go one better here. Royal Castle ran a stinker over hurdles recently, but had earlier battled gamely to win on the flat at Nottingham. He stays well and handles this surface so rates as an obvious danger. Eagles Landing put up a miserable effort over two miles here last time, but prior to that was third off this mark over course and distance, and would have place claims at least if back to that form.
