      Verdict

      Northern Desert could not have won with more ease when successful over seven furlongs in a seller at Kempton last time, the step up to a mile should not inconvenience the nine-year-old at all and he is taken to follow up here, getting the verdict ahead of Circus Polka and Louisiade. The last mentioned was good value for his win at Southwell earlier this month, handles the Polytrack just as well and he should be thereabouts again. Gay Kelleway's Arctic Desert is another last time out selling winner that has to be considered, along with Pianoforte, who is more than capable of taking a hand in the finish on the pick of his form. Circus Polka has been running well in claimers of late and takes a drop in class today so is another with solid claims but marginal preference in a decent seller is for Northern Desert.
