Wicked Uncle, Sands Crooner and Monte Major are the three against the field here with Wicked Uncle taken to come out on top. Sands Crooner won an apprentice contest in smooth fashion last time at Lingfield and seems happy at the minimum trip. He escapes a penalty for that facile success and looks a danger to all. Monte Major has failed to win in eight attempts since scoring in June, but like his namesake he is a consistent type who keeps hitting the frame. Wicked Uncle has crashed down the handicap since scoring at Kempton last year and he has now dropped to a good mark. Recent placed efforts suggest Wicked Uncle can take this.
