Keon is preferred to Tartan Special and Ballare. Keon won a recent race at Kempton and while on the face of it, a follow up seventh was not that smart, it is worth noting that he was not too far behind the progressive Eccollo. Reg Hollinshead is always respected around here and Russell Kennemore is worth his 7lb claim. Tartan Special is another recent winner at Kempton although he too has questions to answer after a subsequent flop. The former sprinter may be worth another chance. Ballare is fully exposed at this level and ran a creditable race behind Milk and Sultana at Kempton on his recent start. Star of Authority has disappointed over this trip in the past and might be a more realistic proposition over seven furlongs. Mujobliged has shown nothing in Ireland but is watched in the market on this occasion. Spurron is lightly raced for a six-year-old and would have chances if transferring his turf from in Ireland across to this surface. The well-bred Khetaab looks to have lost his way since leaving Dermot Weld for current connections. Plenty of ifs and buts to be considered in reaching a decision from a punting perspective and we stick with the proven form of Keon.
