Just Bond can gain another course-and-distance success at the expense of Coeur Courageux, Dream Lodge, Nan Jan and Jewelled Dagger. This appears to be the most wide-open race on the card, and only a small vote of confidence goes to Just Bond who ran a fine race in defeat when third to a couple of much more fancied rivals at Thirsk 16-days ago. He still looks a shade high in the weights, but that did not stop him scoring here at the end of June, and he may well appreciate this return to the Polytrack. Coeur Courageux gained his first victory in two years when scoring over seven-furlongs here last week, benefiting from a change of tactics, and now carries a 6lb penalty. That should not stop him from running well if held up again. Dream Lodge is waiting to be gelded, but in the meantime showed his worth by winning here eight-days ago, incurring a 6lb penalty in the process. Nan Jan's winning run came to an end when she was badly hampered at Kempton. She might not have prevailed, but may well have been placed at least, while Jewelled Dagger has more scope than most at the age of three. There are many ifs and buts here, but the pin comes down on Just Bond.
