Verdict
Northern Empire, Cayman Fox and Figaro Flyer make the shortlist in this tricky sprint handicap, and NORTHERN EMPIRE can continue the improvement he showed last time. Figaro Flyer won at Southwell in May, and ran well subsequently at the same track before bing given a lay off. Having run well on his second run back, Figaro Flyer looks set to play a part in the finish here. Still a maiden in 12 starts, Cayman Fox has shaped recently as if a win is not far away, but he appears held by Cayman Fox, only a pound better off for a length beating. Northern Empire has come crashing down the handicap and showed the benefit of that with a good second at Southwell recently. Racing off the same mark here, and with Jamie Spencer an eye catching jockey booking, Northern Empire can rule.
