A real tricky nightcap and a tentative suggestion is TRANSMISSION, while last-time winners Oversighted and Pianoforte are respected. The last-named is 4lbs higher than when winning here over course and distance last time. He usually gives his best at this place, so despite the extra burden he is expected to be bang there. Oversighted makes the trip across from Ireland and is 5lbs higher than his Dundalk win last month. One previous try here proved abortive, but he is worth another chance and is respected. Trainer Ollie Pears has his string in good nick and his Clear Sailing races here from a mark some 7lbs below that which he won from at Great Leighs in selling company in January. He should be capable of showing up well, but he has not yet produced his best at this track. Wakita won here from an 8lb lower mark this time last year, and she has remained competitive without winning in four subsequent starts. She should be thereabouts but may find a couple too good. Sullenberger won a maiden here in March and has gone close in similar events from this sort of mark recently, so there has to be hope for connections, though with everything exposed we will take a chance on Transmission. Bryan Smart's gelding has won just once at Southwell, and should therefore be a decent price tonight. He also has to contend with a less than impressive draw. However, this is his trip, and as one who acts on the Fibresand he looks very much like being able to handle this surface. He is just 3lbs above that sole success, and with the trainer sending in a couple of big-priced winners of late we hope that he can add to the tally.
