Verdict
Five of the seven set to go here have won on the course before so we know they handle the surface, but our preference is for SABRE LIGHT ahead of New Star and Blacktoft. Jeff Pearce's gelding has won five out of his last six races at Kempton and Lingfield. Happy to see him run at this sort of level, the trainer can expect to see him pick up more prize money along the way. He's giving weight away all round, but is well clear on all his rivals here given a clean run. New Star is a regular here to the exclusion of other courses, and is unpenalised for winning here last week, with that being an apprentices' contest. Blacktoft is in fine form and looking to land a hat-trick. He'll want a strong pace and could end up in a duel with our selection. It looks like a tight little heat, with a number likely to be supported, but carrying our backing will be Sabre Light.
