Vengerov looked progressive when bolting up at Southwell 11 days ago and can follow up in this handicap ahead of Play Master and Marcus Eile. A mark of 73 hardly seems excessive and connections can make hay while the sun shines. Marcus Eile looked promising as a two-year-old last year and the handicapper is now starting to relent. The only downside is that his first run here last time was inauspicious. Play Master also looked progressive - but green also - when just getting up over course and distance last time. He has to improve again though. Hawkit showed plenty of promise at two but lacks a recent run. Myannabanana won twice - including once here - during the summer but his form has tailed off of late. Blinkers might help but they would need to. Overall, though, we'll stick with Vengerov.
