In what may turn out to be a battle between the top and bottom weights, Big Bertha is selected to successfully give lumps of weight away to Retail Therapy, with Compton Eclaire likely to be in the shake-up. Big Bertha was sent off as favourite at Lingfield nine days ago but got outpaced before running on again behind Maystock. The mare's earlier efforts at the Surrey track, including a close second to Mission To Mars, entitled her to be fancied, but the suspicion is that the Polytrack is just a bit too fast for her, and on the slower fibresand she should be a major threat. Down at the bottom of the handicap nestles Retail Therapy, a winner over hurdles at Huntingdon who ran a blinder when second in maiden company here a week ago off a lowly mark of 35. She could be on the upgrade again and can give Big Bertha a race. Compton Eclaire comes from a yard that is always worth following on the all-weather, and with Eddie Ahern in the plate, can make her presence felt. However, with Jamie Spencer on board for the first time, and still not badly treated, Big Bertha is the pick.
