In depth

Verdict

A chance is taken with Mrs Crossy whose rider's 3lb claim helps to tip the scales in her favour over All Talk and Granny Peel. The last named has shown ability at this level and has already given her connectuions plenty to shout about. However, it remains to be seen how she will cope with being taken on for the lead and, as she already faces a stiff test at the weights this afternoon, there are chinks in her armour for the rest to exploit. All Talk shapes as if there are races to be won with her in this sort of grade and appears to be getting the hang of things. She has a feasible chance on theses terms and is one to bear in mind if supported. Nevertheless, she was no match for Mrs Crossy when she made all the win at Kempton a fortnight ago. Richard Hannon's charge obviously handles an atrificial surface well and, with Stephen Breux's claim equating to around a theoretical length advantage over this trip, there is every reason to expect another bold bid from the Alhaarth filly today.
