        Verdict

        Desert Light gets our vote in the finale from Overstayed and Twinned but several others in the field merit serious consideration. Perlachy, Bond Becks and Earl Compton are just three other names to note but Overstayed takes the eye following a prominent showing at Kempton last time and could be running into form. Twinned returned from almost three months off to come within a head of snatching the spoils at the end of last month and should be cherry ripe to go one better. The selection usually comes into his own at this time of year and there were encouraging signs on his latest outing that he was about to hit form. He's handicapped to win again after a spell in the doldrums and Desert Light should be backed to shine brightest on the Wolverhampton sand tonight.
