Verdict

FESTIVAL OF AGES (NAP) finished runner-up in one of these All-Weather Championships qualifiers on the Tapeta at Newcastle last month. Beaten only a length on that occasion, Charlie Appleby’s charge can go one better today and confirm Newcastle running with Watersmeet, Alfredo and Golden Wolf. Aircraft Carrier has improved since joining John Ryan’s yard but will need further progress to figure on these terms having won a couple of handicaps over 1m6f while Arch My Boy has only won a novices' race over the same distance so far though has placed in bumpers in the past.
