In depth

Verdict

A ordinary opener that can be taken by Circumspect, with Flamand and Irreversible the main dangers. The selection staked his claim with a decent performance to finish runner-up, despite being hampered, on debut at Pontefract in September. This step up in trip should pose no problems, and his shrewd yard can have another winner at the track. Luca Cumani saddles Flamand for the race and she too was runner-up in her only run to date at Pontefract, back in June. She ran as green as one would expect there and can come on plenty for it, so she will not be far away. Of the remainder, John Gosden's Irreversible comes out quite quickly after making a pleasing debut in midfield at Lingfield last month. With a faster start here he can get much more closely involved and can make the frame, but Circumspect looks to be the most forward of these and can break his maiden tag.
