Sedge is selected here ahead of Proper and Summer Recluse. Course and distance winner Sedge holds solid claims if anywhere near his best, and he is well drawn if able to reproduce it. Proper has dropped to a fair mark now based on his July Kempton win, while there is no doubt too that Summer Recluse has dropped to a fair mark if managing to get it together today. Of the others, Airman put in a best-yet effort at Warwick last time but may prove better over further in time, and Sir Orpen is well weighted based on his best form if taking to the all-weather as he tries it for the first time. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Sedge.
