Who would have thought that we would see 2001 Lincoln winner Nimello, plying his trade at this level just over two years later. His effort at Hamilton last month, on unsuitable fast ground, showed all is not lost with him and he is a confident choice to regain the winning thread, even over what could prove to be an inadequate trip for him. No shortage of contenders for the minor honours including Risk Free, who is well suited by this trip and comes into this on the back of a solid effort to Blakeset. David Evans' six-year-old has plenty of miles on the clock, but he still retains his enthusiasm. A useful handicapper at his best, Champagne Rider, like the selection is a shadow of what he was, but if on a going day is capable of a bold show.
