With the likes of Favorisio and White Plains more at home in selling company, this probably isn't that competitive. Caliban, who comes here on the back of a decent effort over hurdles recently, Toni Alcala, who will be far happier back over this trip and Bold Ewar, who is certainly well treated on old form are the ones to keep an eye on, with the vote going to the latter. The selection can race off a 10lbs lower mark on the sand and with the booking of Darryll Holland a bonus, he looks worth taking a chance with. Although Toni Alcala has yet to win beyond 12-furlongs, he stays this longer trip well. He will be suited by the likely strong pace and will be hard to keep out of the frame despite giving weight away all round. Caliban doe shave two ways of running, but he more than capable on his day. He is effective on this surface, as he showed when handing out a beating to Jamaican Flight and if in the same mood here, must go well despite having to run off a 7lbs higher mark.
