Powerful Pierre scored over 6f here last month but didn't have the pace to follow up on turf on Saturday. He stays this trip well and can prove a threat. Spinning Ridge has returned to form and is just 2lb higher than when scoring at Kempton. That was over a mile but he's earlier scored over this trip at Lingfield and must be a threat. El Libertador has yet to win a race from 27 starts but is rarely beaten far over this C&D and won't be far away, but the vote goes to FLYING APPLAUSE. Roy Bowring's charge is hardly the most consistent of performers but he's won from much higher marks than this on both Polytrack and turf and hopefully will be in one of his going moods today.
