Bomber Command is arguably better over seven furlongs so is passed over today with the vote going to William Haggas' Very Wise, with Collateral Damage and Waterside rated the main dangers. Very Wise was impressive when beating a small but decent field last month, and whilst his jockey will struggle to get such an easy lead today, he may be capable of notching another course and distance success. The stable have done well recently with only a few runners and his five-year-old gelding gets the vote today. Collateral Damage rates a danger if fit enough after a break although his ability to handle the surface must be taken on trust. Hail The Chief was well-beaten in Listed company last time out and this doesn't look any easier so he is passed over. Humungous name is apt considering how much he cost as a yearling and he is yet to fulfill his promise. He should be fitter for his recent reappearance and rates a danger as long as he breaks from the stalls quicker. Speedy Sam wasn't beaten far in a decent contest at Nad Al Sheba last month and has a decent draw from which to gain a good pitch. He rates a danger, along with Waterside although Gary Moore's charge looks better over a shorter trip. In an open-looking Lincoln Trial, we will tentatively side with Very Wise to get his head in-front again.
