In depth

Verdict

Pike Corner Cross scored here in October and found an extended mile just short of his best in an amateurs' race here on Saturday. Thawry is 1-36 but has been running quite well though he's now been beaten three times from this mark. Seaforth won a seller here last month and didn't get the run of the race in a similar contest next time but this should go to the lightly-raced BEAU GESTE (NAP). Tony Carroll's charge scored over the course and distance in December and only just failed to defy a 6lb rise at Kempton last month. Strict is still a maiden and appears to need further.
