An open race in which Mandarin Spirit might prevail over Bob's Buzz, Silent Storm and Obe One. Looking at the field. Bob's Buzz comes here in good heart following a second over course and distance to Blythe Spirit two days ago, but might just be vulnerable again from his current mark. Silent Storm has a length-and-a-quarter to find on that form and Willieconquertoo has six-and-a-quarter lengths to find, while Phrenologist was well beaten on that occasion. Sewmuch Character is back to a mark that is below a winning one but, surprisingly, he has yet to race on artificial surfaces. Mandarin Spirit took advantage of a falling mark to score at Epsom last time and, interestingly, is closely weighted with Bob's Buzz based on Yarmouth form of August 2003. Obe One often gets sighted making late headway and first-time blinkers could work the trick as he tries this surface for the first time, while Mr Pertemps is among one or two that could just run on into a place. Overall, then, as we say, it is a tricky race and we just give the nod to Mandarin Spirit.
