Verdict

Pactolus and Third Time Lucky filled the places in last year’s renewal of this Lincoln trial and the former is expected to go close again after placing in the Winter Derby at Lingfield. He’ll need to reverse running here early last year with Victory Bond but may well do so over today’s distance as the suspicion remains the latter is best over further. SILVER QUARTZ (NAP) is currently 20/1 for the Lincoln and makes most appeal in this after finishing third behind subsequent winner Oh This Is Us in a conditions' race over track and trip. That form gives him the measure of Goring and Archie Watson’s charge also beat Zwayyan when scoring at Ascot in September. Pinnata’s winning run came to an end over 7f at Newcastle but he’s not easily written off back over a mile today while Breden could also go well and is in the Lincoln along with the returning Wahash and Masham Star.
