Foreplay and Diamond de Triano both have to be respected making their debuts in handicap company today but neither would look to be particularly well treated and a safer bet looks to be Deira, who is preferred. The selection stepped up on juvenile form when chasing home Viva Volta in a Beverley handicap last month and she has solid claims off just a 2lb higher mark today on a surface that should suit. La Fanciulla disappointed when favourite for a Folkestone handicap on her reappearance and is now probably best watched. Tour d'Amour is closely matched with the selection on Beverley running and has to be respected on that evidence but she is more exposed than Deira and has disappointed here before. Imperial Lucky has rather harshly been raised 9lbs for her win at Catterick last time and preference is for Deira, who is taken to go one better than at Beverley.
