In depth

Verdict

Three recent winners to consider in the closing event and THANE OF CAWDOR makes the most appeal. He was expected to appreciate the step up to 1m3f at Kempton last time and duly obliged, winning in a manner that suggested today's extra distance would also be within his compass. William Van Gogh finally took advantage of his slide down the weights over a shorter trip here last time but has been upped 8lb for that, but Mazij has a been raised a more realistic 4lb for his recent win over track and trip and should be thereabouts again. Hallstatt remains hard to win with so stablemate Rock Song is preferred on his comeback outing.
