This could be a very informative maiden as a number of these are bred to be three-year-olds. Lake District, a half-brother to winning miler Alkadi, made a promising start when third to Alpinist at the Curragh, while Rapid Approach was knocking on the door on the Polytrack in November and December and only beaten a length and a half at Cork nine days ago. HUE AND CRY very much caught the eye on his debut at the same track on the same day over 1m1f. He travelled strongly behind the leaders but didn't appear to get home. The drop in distance should suit and David Wachman's colt can open his account. The filly Coquette Noire was second over this trip at Roscommon in the autumn and Big Whiskey and English Deer also showed promise last season.
