A poor handicap in which Desert Hawk, Asian Alliance and Wood Fern are the most likely winners and we side with Desert Hawk. The selection has often been the subject of gambles and probably found nine furlongs plenty short enough last time out. Back up to his favoured twelve, he looks the percentage call in a dire affair. Asian Alliance was rated in the mid 60's in Ireland and the mare is watched in the market given the stable form. Wood Fern often looks like winning but invariably consents not to go through with a vital effort close home. The handicapper has not helped matters. Bill Bennett looks not to have trained on whilst Go Amwell has placed regularly in banded stakes and has obvious claims of repeating the dose at this level. Atlantic Gamble was the subject of quiet support at Southwell on his most recent outing so a cursory glance at the betting is advised. Coppington Melody is dropped in trip. A banded stakes race in all but name and Desert Hawk is offered a chance to redeem himself for some high profile defeats.
