Gifted Leader and Capeability have the best form on offer here but we will side with SMOOTH SOVEREIGN, who is taken to win what is a moderate maiden. Mark Johnston's charge ran with promise on debut last year but was then not seen until running down the field here over course and distance last month. He was a little awkward of head that day, which may still have been down to greenness, but he should be able to improve for the outing and we will give him another chance. Gifted Leader ran with credit in three maidens on turf last summer and is switched to the Polytrack for the first time today. He has to prove he handles the surface and with the yard not red hot we¿ll take him on. Mick Channon-trained Capeability came back from a break to run a nice race when runner-up at Lingfield last time and is expected to build on that here, so he should again be on the premises. There is a marked drop in trip here for If You Knew Suzy, who pulled hard at Southwell last time and may appreciate being able to get on with things a bit quicker now. None of the others look likely to be coming home in front and that honour can go to Smooth Sovereign.
