Clear on official ratings and best off at the weights here, WHITE SHIFT can benefit from a recent pipe opener to win this, while Stash and Barnezet should get heavily involved. The selection lost her way towards the end of last season and David Evans gave her a break before she blew off the cobwebs here last time. This trip looks ideal and despite a 6lb drop by the assessor she is still clear of this lot, so now that she should be back to full fitness we'll side with her. Stash won a maiden here on debut and ran well enough on two subsequent starts to suggest that he has got a decent chance in what is not a hot race. Barnezet had run some good races in defeat before winning a Lingfield handicap last time. A 6lb rise has seen connections turn to a claimer here, but with Chris Catlin up and confidence high he is very much respected. La Capriosa has a fair bit to find at the weights and prefers Southwell to anywhere else, while Sills Vincero loves it here and might make the frame, but she too has plenty to find at the weights. White Shift is given another chance.
