This may not be as competitive as the numbers suggest with over half of 11 runners having to race from out of the handicap and a chance is taken on the fitness of Little Brave, who is preferred to French Mannequin and Zaffeu. The last mentioned is trained by Nick Littmoden but neither his style of running, nor his pedigree, suggests that this longer trip will bring about the necessary improvement. Zeloso has been running in banded races and despite this being a poor contest, should not really be good enough to trouble the pick of these. Kyber has claims on his best form but his stable remains out of form and of more interest may be the top weight French Mannequin. He has not raced on the flat for some time but has been ticking over at the National Hunt game and returns to the level on a favourable mark. However, like so many of these, the six-year-old is a far from certain stayer and preference is for Little Brave. Admittedly he has a long absence to overcome but the 10-year-old hails from a stable in form so fitness may not be a problem and there are no stamina doubts for the son of Kahyasi. Little Brave looks the pick of a poor bunch.
