Meggie's Lad gets a tentative vote over Ah Yeah and Get The Point in a race comprising of quite afew disappointing sorts. It is with no great conviction that Meggie's Lad is selected as he has not been entirely convincing himself since being put over fences. However, this is the first time that he has been tried over the minimum trip since he finished second over hurdles here at Towcester in November 2003. Although this is one of the stiffest tracks in the country, his stamina should still not be as severely tested as of late, and his drop in the ratings should help his cause. Ah Yeah is another that has had his stamina tested over fences, and although he has a bit of placed form, is hard to fancy strongly, while Get The Point is a stone higher than when scoring over the course and distance 14 months ago. Harem Scarem has not got his jumping together of late but may try and make the pace here. Polish Pilot and Auditor are both adept over this trip and have place claims of a sort, but in a poor contest, we return to Meggie's Lad as the answer.
