Longstone Lass can make the most of the weight that she receives from Fletcher and Circle Of Wolves in the finale. This contest for amateur riders should not take great deal of winning, and with Clair Metcalfe claiming a valuable five-pounds off the back of Longstone Lass, Richard Guest's mare can pay to follow off her featherweight. She stayed on when second at Catterick in December, and although that was in selling company, this is little better and the trip should help her cause. Fletcher has been around an awful long time but has performed with credit lately. He goes well for an amateur and should be there or thereabouts, but does have plenty of weight, as does Circle Of Wolves who who was a poor third here in November. Theocritus has the assistance of Polly Gundry so will at least have a good rider on board, but in a race that should not be dwelt on for too long, it is Longstone Lass who is the pick.
