A poor event featuring mainly disappointing types in which Inver Gold is the tentative choice with High Policy, Favorisio and Glitter And Glory the main dangers. Tony Newcombe's charge has a good record at this track and was successful in a decent mile-and-a-half handicap off a mark of 72 last summer. Although untried beyond that trip, the six-year-old has shaped as though he should have sufficient stamina reserves to last home over this extra three furlongs, and looks fairly treated if doing so. High Policy is better on the all-weather than turf so his recent disappointing efforts can be discounted. However, he would have been receiving 4lb from the selection if this was a handicap so is opposed on this occasion. Glitter And Glory ran respectably last time but has plenty to find on these terms while Favorisio is unreliable and looks worth opposing, even at this level.
