Mark Johnston has his team in excellent order at present and the Middleham handler is taken to strike with Herne Bay while No Refuge, Claptrap and Regal Repose are others to consider. The selection justified favouritism to land a Southwell maiden over this trip in January but has faced some stiff tasks against useful opposition since, putting up a respectable effort when third behind a progressive rival here in March. The Hernando colt faces nothing of that calibre here and is open to a little further improvement so should give a solid display under Willie Ryan. No Refuge showed little in three maiden starts as a juvenile but is bred to appreciate this trip and is expected to prove a big danger off a potentially lenient mark. Claptrap wasn't disgraced on his handicap debut over an inadequate test of stamina here in late April and will be suited by this longer trip but Regal repose only scrambled home in a poor claimer over C&D last time and more is required off his current rating.
