Verdict

Amy Murphy has acquired Phoenix Star from Chris Dwyer, who saddled him to victory at Yarmouth in June. He's comfortably the best of those with experience though RAKASTAVA could prove a tough nut to crack. Mick Channon's charge, a £36,000 yearling, is out of a mare who has already produced seven winners and her latest offspring can take this in receipt of 7lb. Killer Queen, who cost 60,000gns as a foal, went for 3,000gns at the May Sales and makes a belated racecourse debut while another newcomer, Empty Promises, is bred for this trip and his rookie trainer will be hoping to get a winner on board. Major Blue will have come on markedly for his run at Lingfield where he was very green.
