Sir Ox has improved for the application of cheekpieces and opened his account with a clear-cut victory at Lingfield. He should go well again despite a 5lb rise but John Gosden will be hoping headgear has the same galvanising effect on BEEHAR and the latter gets the vote stepping up in trip for his handicap debut after modest efforts in novice company so far. Biz Markee is a similar type to the selection with headgear fitted for the first time on his handicap bow while Lieutenant Conde looks likely to improve for today’s extra distance. Maared and Naughty Nigel should be winning this year though both are returning from an absence.
