This trip suits Newnham and he is readily preferred over Grand Design and Glenviews Oldport in this company. Pips Assertive Way has claims on the very best of her hurdles form and, as she is guaranteed to stay, the daughter of Nomadic Way is one to note for each-way support. Glenviews Oldport hails from a yard that have enjoyed a good spell of results and she also merits a second look if she is backed before the off. She has acted well on an artificial surface in the past and should not be underestimated at this level. Grand Design is a lightly raced filly that still has scope to improve. Eddie Ahern is an eye-catching jockey booking and a bold bid looks to be in the offering. However, preference goes to Newnham, whose level of form sets what standard there is here. And the Jim Boyle-trained five-year-old is given another chance to deliver in a race that will not take too much winning.
