Altitude is the pick ahead of the likes of Hasty Lady, Step This Way and Ruby Light to name but three. It is well known that Sir Mark Prescot does not rush his juveniles, preferring instead to bring them along steadily with a view to their three-year-old career. However, Altitude was sent off as favourite at Folkestone last time on the strength of an encouraging effort on the Lingfield Polytrack the time before. Unfortunately, she never really got going on the rain-softened ground at the Kent track, and was well held in fourth. A half-sister to the stable's useful Albanova and Alborada, she can only improve for a sterner test of stamina, and could be worth chancing today. Hasty Lady, a half-sister to Fantastic View, is another that will relish the step up in trip, and she too has that bit of experience to call on. Step This Way hails from a stable full of useful sorts in the two-year-old division, but has not impressed yet, while Ruby Light was caught in the slipstream of subsequent Prestige Stakes winner Sense Of Light at Newmarket, and would not need to improve too much to take a hand here. Altitude makes plenty of future appeal on breeding though, and may just be worth chancing now.
