        Verdict

        Just Bond can defy topweight to register another course success at the expense of Veiled Applause, First To Call and Aegean Prince. Just Bond has developed into a real Wolverhampton specialist, having rattled up no less than six wins here since last November. In the process, Geoff Oldroyd's five-year-old has gone up from 53 to a mark of 83, but at his favourite venue, he has to be fancied to beat the handicapper again. Veiled Applause has been in very consistent mood this term, but has yet to score off today's mark, while First To Call relished the step up in trip when opening his account in a mile Bath maiden, and should continue to progress. Aegean Prince gained his only win so far on his one try on the Polytrack at Lingfield, and although out of form since, he should not be ruled out on his return to the all-weather. Just Bond has to give weight away all round here, but should have too much know-how for his seven rivals.
