Verdict

A few old friends in opposition and SPARKAWAY looks the most obvious winner with Leyte Gulf and Looks The Business likely to give him most to think about. Sparkaway was particularly disappointing on his visit to the course in September but he ran a fair second behind Windpfeil at Windsor last month and if back to his best, will take the beating. Leyte Gulf is a regular over course and distance. He does not do thinks quickly though is resolute enough to do himself justice. Looks The Business has had a break since disappointing here in September. His trainer has had a couple of winners last week so it is to be hoped that he will turn in a better effort this afternoon. Tivers Song placed on a number of occasions over 1m2f and steps up in trip this afternoon. Major Promise has a first run for Jane Chapple-Hyam having left George Margarson. Chichen Daawe has not lived up to expectations following initial promise. Day Care is better known as a hurdler in Ireland though ran with some promise at Dundalk on his most recent appearance on the flat. Sovento, who ran a fair race at Catterick last month, seems best of the rest. The meeting ends on something of a whimper but Sparkaway can provide the punters with plenty to cheer.
