        Verdict

        Arctic Desert, Gifted Heir and Zaafira are on the shortlist here in a wide open seller, with Arctic Desert the best treated at the weights and set to come out on top. Gifted Heir last won a year ago, but that was a non selling nursery. Although he has not won since, he has run respectably in a couple of claimers and comes here fit after a disappointing try over hurdles. Zaafira won over this course and distance in a similar contest last time, and he clearly likes the track, having been twice placed here before. His earlier runs had generally been in better races and he can go well. Arctic Desert has not won for almost two years but has been mainly campaigned in handicaps. When dropped to this grade two outings ago he was a close second. Tried again in selling class, Arctic Desert can end his barren spell and make a return to the winners' encloure.
